Electric vehicle charging mode

🚗 From the IEC 61851-1 standard, which is an international standard, it will make the electrically conductive charging system of electric cars Divided into 4 modes as follows:

📌 Mode 1: This is a method of connecting the vehicle to a standard outlet on an AC power source via a cable. without having to use additional equipment And can be used in both 1-phase and 3-phase electrical systems, but there are high risks in use, such as tripping the breaker, fire or electric shock from the electrical system that is heated from continuous charging. long time

📌 Mode 2: This is a method of connecting the vehicle to an AC power source through a control device which has a protection system for the user from electric shock integrated into the cable between the standard socket and the vehicle. It is recommended only for installation with a home electrical system that is an outlet that can supply 32A charging current only and should be used if necessary. Because this is not the case with standard household plug circuits.

📌 Mode 3: It involves charging an electric vehicle via a charging station permanently connected to an AC power source, which is equipped with equipment and a control system. The power supply will not be a standard socket but will have a higher power range from 3.7KW – 22KW, allowing for faster charging than Charge Modes 1 and 2, with the addition of a pilot wire in the charging cable that helps communicate between Car or equipment charging through standard protocols And it is charged via On-Board as well.

📌 Mode 4: Charging via a direct current (DC) power supply, which is connected to the DC power supply with the electric vehicle charger. And sends electricity directly to the electric car battery, not through the On-Board, making charging much faster than charging modes 1, 2 and 3.
